Holiday cottage accommodation

Kohukohu Cottage is located beside the harbour in the village of Kohukohu. The cottage has two bedrooms, a living room and two verandahs, a fully equipped kitchen, barbecue, washing machine, telephone, FreeView TV, DVD player and radio. There is a bathroom with a bath, shower and handbasin. An adjacent room contains a toilet and handbasin. Heaters are in the bedrooms and living room. Linen, towels and duvets are supplied. Undercover parking is available for one car.

The first bedroom contains a queen bed. The second bedroom contains a double bed and a single bed.

There are excellent harbour views from the bedrooms, living room and kitchen.

There is no ADSL broadband service at Kohukohu Cottage. Broadband may be available on mobile data plans but low population density and difficult topography means you will only find intermittent coverage in the Hokianga. You may check coverage maps for Telecom, Vodafone and 2degrees. The cottage has a fixed-line phone, if you are travelling with a device that has a 56k modem you could use a dialup connection to access the internet. There is a Tomizone WiFi connection at the Village Arts Gallery and you may also get internet access in the public library.

The cottage can be rented at any time of the year.
A minimum 2 night stay may apply between 24th December and 6th February, during Easter holidays and other busy holiday periods.
* Add $30 to the price of a stay of one night in May, June, July and August.

How to Confirm a Reservation by Paying a Deposit

  • Contact our office to confirm availability and and make a reservation. If we have availability we will inform you of the price of accommodation.
  • After a reservation is made, a 20% deposit of the total price of the stay is required. This deposit can be paid by Visa or Mastercard through Paymate Express. A deposit can also be paid by cheque or by direct deposit in to our bank account.

  • Reservations for high seasons, peak periods or extended stays may require a deposit equivalent to 50% or 100% of the price of the stay.
  • Your booking is not confirmed until we have contacted you to say that your deposit has been received.
  • Cancellation Policy: On cancellation of a booking, deposits are not refundable, however a deposit can be transferred to another reservation within 6 months of cancellation.

How to Confirm a Reservation by Telephone with Visa or Mastercard

  • Contact our office by telephone to confirm availability and make a reservation.. If we have availability we will inform you of the price of accommodation.
  • Confirm the reservation by giving our office your name and Visa and Mastercard details. We will also ask you for your telephone number.
  • If your Visa or Mastercard expires before arrival date, the reservation will need to be confirmed again with a new expiry date.
  • Cancellation Policy: A cancellation⁄amendment to a reservation (or an existing stay) or a No Show can result in a cancellation fee equivalent to one night's tariff or 20% to 70% of the price of the entire stay, at the discretion of the management. Cancellations made within one week of arrival day may require a cancellation fee equivalent to one night's tariff or up to 100% of the price of the entire stay, at the discretion of the management.
