The Village of Kohukohu
Kohukohu is a hillside village with a population of 200 people and serves community of 600 people. In the late 19th century and early 20th century Kohukohu was was a bustling kauri mill town. Walk around the village to view well preserved kauri wood colonial buildings and to enjoy the harbour scenery and small village atmosphere.
A waterfront general store sells food supplies 7 days a week. KB's Caf'a'way café opens Wednesday to Sunday 10:30am to 8:00pm.
Hokianga Harbour Hotel serves bar snacks on Wednesday to Sunday and can be booked for groups or functions. A $10 roast meal can be booked ahead for Thursday night.
